From what I can tell, this is a type of Orb Weaver spider (non poisonous). I took this picture from inside the house through the kitchen window. Its web was slightly larger than the window. The body of this spider is slightly larger than a quarter. I dont know how long these spiders live, but last year a similar spider made its home in the same spot. I like these critters since they get rid of the real pests, flies and mosquitoes.

While on vacation in Quinan I was at my brothers camp when I spotted dozens of dragon flies zipping all around the pond. I captured this one with an ant on its back leg. I wonder if its hitching a ride or the ant is biting off more than it can chew.
