My name is Tim Doucette, a legally blind amateur astronomer. My mission is to take you on a journey deep into cosmos. To inspire you to look up at the stars and to give you a better understanding of the universe we live in.
My hope for you, is that you will gain a new appreciation for our planet and all who share a place on this tiny blue dot we call home.
I'm a writer and photographer living beside the Tusket River near Gavelton, NS. I've written three books of poetry, with another collection in progress, but have shifted toward reflective prose pieces in recent years. I enjoy many things, including astronomy, paleontology, photography, literature, music, cats and other critters. Every aspect of the natural world attracts my attention. Night photography is a fairly new pursuit; I'm happiest out under the dark skies, alone with my imagination.
My father was in the navy and introduced me to the stars when I was very young. His influence obviously continues. Tim is my mentor now, and I'm grateful for his friendship and guidance. I can have no finer guide to the universe! He and Amanda have created a remarkable place here at Deep Sky Eye, and the land around it will become a go-to camping location in a unique setting.
I hope you'll find something of interest in my various blog rambles through the cosmos, above and all around us.
